I'm extremely personable in real life, and excellent at making connections with people.

But real friends...

I think all relationships are circumstantial.

People grow older, people grow apart.

It goes from seeing each other everyday, to every week, to once a month, to a year, to five years, until you don't ever see them again.

There is probably someone you really love in your life that you have already seen for the last time.

This is all very temporary.

I have 3 friends from the marines that I may not talk to for months at a time. Then out of the blue we'll spend an hour on the phone catching up and bullshitting. I'd so anything for any one of them and they'd do the same for me.

He's actually the most honest dude around, which is why we were close to begin with.

He wanted out of his misery. Still does, but is too weak to do it himself. Would be honored, but think it's a fucking pussy-move, something I've told him. Especially since he got two sons.

Have him on a stick's distance, but we can talk about anything. Which is great.

Everyone has trauma in their past. Your suicidal friend should make sure it's not a bad combination of pills that make him suicidal. The only time I had weird horrible suicidal thoughts was when I tried stopping my SSRI cold turkey. That shit was given to me when I was just really down about ten years ago. I never should have taken them. Now it's going to take me ages to get off of them. About OP's question about friends: I had the same circle of friends all my life but now it's changing. I found the people I like to hang the most with are my new friends I met during lockdown and antivax protests and my buddies from my old cars club who are also antivax. All of my old friends turned on me when I decided to not get vaccinated and when I started denouncing the cabal that Force on us their agenda of servitude in a LGBT/migrant clown world.

Not many and that's how it's supposed to be. People with a lot of friends find out how few are real friends at inopportune moments. Too many people in you circle is a liability anyway.

3 solid friends that I've known for at least 20 years. The rest are acquaintances or fairweather friends. A few of them only contact me to go out to concerts or the bar as the designated driver.
