I loved xp, know it inside and out but quit after that. They took our control away. I was in line the day xp came out and bought two copies of pro.

Work desktop is Brothers In Arms album cover/ art, tablets are black (tons of shortcuts). Can’t remember what my now-deceased MacBook was, something dark colored. XP machine is the grassy hill/ blue sky I think. Mac mini is whatever default, haven’t used it much yet. Still haven’t set up my home shop PC.

Ring world is unstable.

Why? In Niven's books, the world appears to have persisted for millions of years - long enough for its human inhabitants to have evolved into bizzare new forms like vampires, mole rats, and others I forget. What is interesting is that they all seem to have evolved degeneratively. There are no races smarter or stronger than normal humans, so maybe the original population was liberal.
