I think a lot of guys refuse to believe the truth because it exposes their inadequacies and hurts their ego. It’s easier to believe that a man’s value to a woman is something that he has control over, like personality and fitness, when in reality they can’t accept that they were born a certain way and there is little they can do to influence their options. Alternatively, a guy might be a good catch but still refuse to believe that it’s his looks that are getting him results, and would instead rather believe it’s because of some trait or ‘hard work’ he has put in.
