It's modern version of 80's action and horror movies. Yes there's the usual woke crap like fags and coal burning, but the character development and chemistry between the actors are fantastic. (Not the black kid and the red head, they have terrible chemistry, although not for lack of trying).
Most of the characters are easy to relate because just feel realistic. The heroes are all flawed, and the villians have believable motivations. The characters evolve, and just plain good storytelling. Some of the actors are crap, but I think there are a few that are amazing.
Yeah it has that cheesy 80's vibe and some of the jokes are corny, but I like that too.
