Yes. America adopted capitalism and patent ownership. Previous to this, the government basically owned your work and profit shared with you.

This is what made America great and a capitalist giant. Everyone wanted to come here because you could keep your property and intellectual rights. This made America a beacon.

To me I thought capitalism was an invention of the founding fathers and thus was secured in the constitution essentially as a form of economic freedom to go along with all the other freedoms it was trying to entail.

Because I see people with the arguments “capitalism is tyranny” etc and I’m just thinking, bitch, it was literally created for America as very specifically the freest and furthest from tyranny an economic model that could be.

No one invented capitalism. It's the default state of human activity engaged in fulfilling wants and needs.
