Neither of us had any real assets at the start. We had proven to each other for years that we communicate well, hold family and the relationship as a higher priority than individual interests, that we share a similar life trajectory with her following my lead, and that we're both loyal even when times are tough. The only negotiations we had to make were these: the marriage would immediately be ended in the unexpected case of cheating or child abuse. Besides that, we would swear before God to be family forever, and work through anything. I think most women are not worthy of that level of trust, and you should really consider a prenup and separate finances... but I also think you shouldn't bother getting married unless you've found a woman that's clearly worthy of that level of trust.
