I was thinking of buying these for my door speakers in my truck. Is alpine still the best for mid-range priced speakers? I know I'll need an amp. I'll have the guys that install them help me choose an amp to make sure they are pushed correctly.

Make a cheaper one fit. I guarantee you that the first time you crank the volume on any 4 volt rca output it will sound like utter trash. Even the hoodnogs will be laughing at you

I don't know what vehicle you have

I'm working on a 2007 trailblazer 4.2l v6

Quick fix get an old style but new build rca in out equalizer. The one I have takes a 2 v input and boosts it to 9 v.

Those are an option but not as good as a true 5v from the stereo

No doubt. More amp stages = more noise and colorization of the music.
