I should. How do you choose to do it?
Once a week, I download all email though a Thunderbird extension and delete it from servers. It gets zipped and archived locally.
About once every 2 weeks, I'll clear every text message on the device. I don't need it longer than that.
About once a month, I'll download all images, both taken and saved, and archive them locally.
It takes a bit of messing with, but it's something I'll do on Sunday morning while drinking my tea and sitting on the back porch, if the weather is amicable.
Good info. I used to download my e-mails but stopped like 12 years ago
If you use Thunderbird to connect to your email services, there's an addon called Import Export Tools that will create a nice HTML list of all emails currently in the box of interest, plus a folder of the emails themselves in a universal (Except Microsoft) .eml format.
I do this once a week and put them in yearly folders, this allows me to easily search for emails, since I can usually remember the around-this-time frame of the email, even if I can't remember the exact date.
