My wife is trying to get me to switch to iphone. Told her I will never own a phone that doesn't have SD memory storage. I told her that the cloud is fucked up and I don't trust it for x reason. Was looking for help I guess

the iphone is the one that searches though all your pics (even ones in the phone) bot CP.

you wanna bet it's not there to find CP (well, i'm sure the execs at apple add them to their collections) but rather looking for conservatives to add to the list.

FUCK APPLE

get a de-googled android phone

I've been using a braxman (lineage android) phone for about a year and a half. The freedom from advertisers is awesome.

A) Why does she care what kind of phone you have?

B) Just hold your position. Private photos are private. The Feds can always get into your phone if they really feel like it but putting your stuff on the cloud means any random weirdo SJW tech employee can also have a look. Not to mention neck beard autistic hackers.

C) Give her a spanking and tell her to get back in the kitchen.

I do need a new phone, I read many books and have a huge pdf library. Things like "mein kompf" will most likely get me flagged in the cloud in the near Orwellian future

ive only ever heard of cp being detected, so they do scan cloud databases for certain kinds of content, they could do it for any kind of content they wanted

[–] 2 pts

Just think of how easy it is for them to insert CP into those "cloud databases" and frame a motherfucker.

[–] 2 pts

No, but I don't let a whole lot be stored in "the cloud."

I have some odds n ends in a dropbox account, but that's mostly freely available manuals and technical information that I find useful to have in multiple spots.

I’ve got folders of memes, nigger jokes and nigger violence on Drive, Mega, Drop Box, pCloud, etc. Gigs and Gigs of stuff with clear file and folder names. So far, it’s all still there as I dump new shit every month or so to clear space and clutter.

Data hoarding of the I hate niggers and kikes variety.

I have a buddy who uses Telegram downloaded from the Apple store and several messages I've sent him have been disappeared. One was just the "I Support The Latest Thing" meme.

In order for an app to be available in the Apple store it has to have Apple censorware loaded into it.

Telegram is the cuckservative of messaging apps: Fake and gay.

They also censor through the android app store.

FYI, telegram is google android dependent. The app is collecting all sorts of info about you and your friend.

There are ways to run it and minimize risk. I run ASOP with no Google APIs, in locked-down (no BT, no WiFi scanning, no NFC) + NAT'ed VM, over Tor+VPN, registered to a burner number, with direct-download of the app. And except for that one guy, I use it read-only. That one buddy and I regularly say stuff that doesn't align with our location, demographic, and situation in general. The SigInt on that one is all mixed up. Let them have fun with it. Yes, they could rubber hose him. It's worth the managed risk.

There are good news channels for tracking WEF, COVID horseshit, the attempts to start a famine, etc.

What do you mean by burner number? Are you using your "every day" phone, but with some kind of phone number masking? Also, telegram works for you? Telegram does not function on my lineage OS device because it doesn't accept google platform.

I have a telegram acct, but I access it from my "ghost phone" a stock android pay as you go plan that I pay with an un-registered credit gift card. Obviously the phone only gets used away from home and does not in any way tie to my real life contacts or social media.

The way I see it, the most dangerous thing about telegram is that you may be enticed to interact on their platform, and the data is being sold to whomever. Could be Russia, could be the USGov, could be nestle or the WEF.

Don't have the details right now, but the feds ripped apart aws services to bring down DS & 8chan

[–] 1 pt

Yes. Don’t trust them. Files deleted from google drive, local windows machine, apple os, and various others. Store spicy things on thumb drives with different names than you downloaded them under.

Which "cloud?" There is a Google cloud, an Apple cloud, a Microsoft cloud, an Amazon cloud, an Adobe cloud, and on and on ad nauseum. People talk about "The Cloud" like it's some kind of magic thing up in the sky but it really is nothing more than a fancy name for storing your data on some internet server somewhere, probably in some huge data center. Whoever runs the "cloud" you are using can look through your files all they want to, there is no guarantee of privacy: check the TOS. Yes, some companies definitely scan their clouds looking for "illegal" content. Best thing to do might be to set up your own file server at home and have a "personal cloud." I use a self-secured Linux computer with RAID, and access it remotely using SSH/SFTP.

--but also, you can purchase consumerized NAS devices that do this sort of thing without a lot of know-how. (Beware of the OS and backdoor support systems that come installed on these, however.)

This is honestly so common that I am surprised you are even asking for it.

Every time I start a new firmware project at work, one of my superiors reminds me to do a stupid github repo. I play stupid, oh yeah I forgot... Fuck git. I save shit to our local server, and to my raid mirror. Except for this latest project. Been working on one for a whole month, and he has not nudged me in that direction yet. Wonder if he got the hint, or he had a shitty experience like I did. Twice could have lost entire projects because of git's retarded interface, if it weren't for the fact even though I was pushing to git I was simultaneously doing the aforementioned backup.

Get your own server from Synology or whatever, set it up and this problem goes away.

Most of these appliances are cloud-connected, backdoored for "support purposes", and are just as likely to be injected.

or a linux setup and copy to a second drive on that. Fuck never let your shit be stored on someone else's server. Also MS knows all your files if you use windows so Linux is the only way to go though that is likely not so secure now.

airgap on an external drive. Hoard!

I had 4 usb drives at one time on my old system. Just a usb switch "push button to activate one of them or all of them at a time. Not air gapped but manual switch that needs to be pushed to connect the drives individually.
