My wife and I went shopping for our engagement and wedding bands together, we made a day of it. Admittedly I did propose over lunch... I think my exact words were, "So since we're getting married right, let's go get our rings, I have no ideas what to get." #realromantic (we'd been together for 8 years at the time through undergrad, my grad school misadventure, cancer and getting seizures, so... Yeah...) She then promptly bought our (better) wedding bands a couple months after the wedding when we had some money again.
