That's a great question and I've thought about it many times. I think I would say yes and no.

It seemed counterproductive to be engineering a social hippie 'no morals' movement that then went on to profusely resist the war.

I think it's rare though that the 'controllers' don't eventually get what they want, at least mostly.

That could be explained by: 1. A desire to fracture white America into two distinct factions --- the patriotic, pro-America side that views all American global excursions as something to be championed and supported. 2. Their ideological opposites who were fed propaganda that conditioned them to despise their own country and its interests. These are the seeds that were planted back then, the fruits of which are apparent before our eyes today.

Yeah, excellent, I agree with that, and it happened, as you say.
