Yep, not everyone know how to pick locks, but good burglar could pull a lock and be inside in less than 10 second, without making much noise.

Rake is a bit of a different story. If you hold the entire lock in your palm it's a lot easier to get a proper angle to do it, when it's attached to a door and a locking mechanism, it takes someone who really know what they are doing to rake it. And then there are all kinds of anti pick lock out there on the market.

I'd say lockpicking is more of a hobby, no one would use that to break in somewhere when time is of the essence, but I have heard a few instances where locks have been opened with lock snap guns. Sometimes they damage the lock and it's obvious it was attacked, sometimes people are just left wondering if they forgot to lock the door and someone just walked in and took all the stuff.
