AK style

Avtomat Kalashnikova

AR style

ArmaLite

Tell me you know nothing about guns without telling me you know nothing about guns. Neither are styles. AK and AR both stand for their maker or brand. You won't find an AK in a gun store, not to mention they're full auto; have fun with that tax stamp.

Are they on the ban list.

Yes. Kind of. An AK47 is a full-auto. That's all you need to know. They're also in the hands of sandjews that the USSR jews armed.

and he goes on to prove that point!

Neither are styles.

They are a design of rifle that is made by many manufacturers so calling them a style is not wrong. I have some of both and none of them were made by ArmaLite or Avtomat Kalishnikova.

Again, not true.

You fucking moron, there are plenty of semiautomatic AKs out there. Now please take your own advice and shut the fuck up about shit you clearly know nothing about.

Yes, calling them a "style" is, in fact, wrong.

They are AR pattern rifles.

Thanks. Saved me some typing.

You are right technically, but people use AR and AK colloquially and everyone generally knows the type of rifle you are talking about. It’s the same thing as calling any generic tissue a “Kleenex” even though it’s not technically that brand. Everybody knows what you’re talking about and it’s easier to communicate that way
