My car is 20 years old and does 80 at like 2.2k RPM in 6th, it'll be fine lol.
500 miles at 55mph = a little over 9 hours. 500 miles 75 = 6.6 hours. 500 miles at 90mph = 5.5 hours.
One of my vehicles has almost 200k miles, most of it driving 80-90 mph where it averages 20 mpg. That's less than a 19% savings compared to driving 55. It's called 6th gear, and 4 hours of trip time is certainly worth the extra 23 dollars spent in fuel.
