I’ve taken first aid training with CPR a few times and they rarely tell you that it’s highly unlikely to work. They teach you what to do if you revive the person, and that’s good, but the best you should hope for is to keep them alive until the paramedics get there.

My instructors have always said as much. That and you are better to spend your time pumping the heart than blowing into them.
