Grandfather whom I had the utmost respect for and think about everyday. He suffered and held on as my grandmother was fading. He was with her until the end out of sheer will. We were with him at the end. Herman the fucking German.

A mans man. A rock. A leader. Loved and respected by everyone worth a damn. Speaking at his funeral, I’d never felt such a loss. I also felt like I couldn’t say enough and was afraid to stop talking. I reference photos and memories of my grandfather for strength when I know I’m not living up to the name he gave me. I’ve never and will never respect anyone more in my entire life.

I had a grandpa like that. He started working on a dairy farm at age 11. Guy was a real man . At age 78 he was mixing concrete in his back yard , wheelbarrowing it down a ramp.he rigged up down to the cellar , and reinforcing the brick foundation , that he framed up to pour the concrete.

It's sad so many don't have men in their lives like that to have as an example

You and I were truly blessed to have that.

My Grandpa was just a cool ass guy. He worked smart, partied, was loyal to my grandma until she passed. He showed me how to shoot a gun, drive his old ass ATVs, and to be wary of 3rd world drug dealers always with a cup of Dewers on Ice. Respect to Pepaw and all our based grandpa's.

RIP Pepaw . Sounds like a great guy , and real man.

Myself, in lucid dreams.

Some of my pets (old age or had the vet to put them down to avoid useless suffering due to terminal/incurable disease)

Traffic accidents

Why yourself while lucid dreaming? How does that feel?

[–] 1 pt (edited )

I think you accidentally a word.

I dream that I leave my body and watch it from an external point of view.

I've always heard that you will die in real life if you die while dreaming.

Everyone says, "I woke up just before I hit the ground or just before the monster ate me."

This is hearsay evidence only, but my cousin told me his friend woke up from a nap (they were doing drugs all day) and screamed, "THEY'RE AFTER ME! THEY'RE AFTER ME!" and fell over dead. He was 29. A surfer. Heart attack was the official cause of death.

When asleep, the body is not really shutdown and whatever that triggers a sensory reaction will influence your dreams. (i.e pinky in glass of water will make the sleeper pee him/herself)

Yes, my daughter, in my arms, and a few others.

Horrible. Moments like that make you who you are today.

When you hear someone screeching over george floyd NLM or supreme court decisions, one look into your eyes will shut them the fuck up.

It's a power you now have, but it's a power you never really wanted.

Thanks. Your words are much appreciated.

I'm sorry. I can't even imagine. It makes me flinch to even type it.

Fly free, little one.

The wounds on the inside never really heal , you just learn to somehow live with them.

My heartfelt condolences. I hope you have , or can , find peace with God and yourself.

Thank you for the kind words.

Yes.

Edit: Without going into too much detail, I had a job where I had to do CPR on occasion. It rarely worked.

The odd of CPR working are around 5-11% max. They forget to warn people how ineffective it is.

[–] 1 pt

I’ve taken first aid training with CPR a few times and they rarely tell you that it’s highly unlikely to work. They teach you what to do if you revive the person, and that’s good, but the best you should hope for is to keep them alive until the paramedics get there.

My instructors have always said as much. That and you are better to spend your time pumping the heart than blowing into them.

Saw a kid drown in a pond. For years I would dream about it , seeing just his arm rising out of the water and slapping the water

I was 12 , flagged down a passing cop car. Rescue arrived in two minutes. Saw them get the kid out , doing cpr as he was on the stretcher going in the ambulance. Saw on the news the kid never revived.

A lot of people, actually. But I'm older and was in a profession where that kind of thing was commonplace.

My father-in-law died in my arms 2 years after my wife.

He had cancer. Hospice at home. 24/7 nursing care. My mother-in-law sat on the couch and cursed him out for every minor infraction he ever committed in their long marriage. I was stunned to hear it. And sad. I loved my IN-LAWS as much as I love my own family.

I hugged him and told him to "go into the light" as he died.

He heard me. And just died. ...but there was something about that last look that troubles me to this day.

I have to say the 5th Amendment was put there for good reasons.

Fuck you, Wolfie... this is Voat Poal. You're not allowed to plead the 5th here.

Been near it a few times. Didn’t see it.

I think twice a guy was beheaded on a train I was in in India.

Never take the train from Bombay to Calcuttyourheadoffia.

I've never seen anyone pass but I did see a guy after he got hit by a car on the interstate. Looked like a pile of hamburger meat.

He was probably Irish. Paddy on the highway. (sorry...morbid humor)

More like charred hamburger but raw in the middle
