I'm knocking off Anthrax & Megadeth this summer - I've seen Slayer 5 times (all before Jeff Hanneman died) but haven't seen Metallica. If you've seen all 4 which was the best band?

Slayer twice, Metallica once. All in the 90s. Honestly was kinda disappointing. Incredibly sloppy playing, I could play guitar better than either band when I was only 14 or so. Even Bostaph's live drumming was nothing special. I grew out of metal soon after that.

Maybe you saw Metallica on a bad night. The last time they played my city was 13 years ago so maybe the fans are shitty. IDK anymore yet I wanna see them before I die.

I've seen MetallicA and Slayer. Maybe someday ill see Megadeth. Only Anthrax album I ever really got into was "Sound of White Noise".

I saw Metallica when they were still good.

I have never cared much for Anthrax or Slayer.

I've gone to a single Megadeth and a single Metallica concert back in 98.

Megadeth's concert was a fantastic time that I fondly remember. It was basically in what was little more than a high school gym. Great selection of classic and modern songs that were sung and played album-perfect.

Metallica's concert was mostly shitty and mostly forgettable. As Hetfield could no longer sing like he used to by 98, he ruined all of their old songs they played by singing them in his 'new' style and also mixed in a bunch of cover songs that sucked. Only awesome thing was Jerry Cantrell opened.

Metallica during Shit Hits the Sheds Tour and at Woodstock 94. Megadeth for the Youthanasia tour. Slayer for Divine Intervention and the Farewell Tour. Ticking off Anthrax for their tour this year.

Of all I've seen, Slayer was my favorite.

Metallica at WOODSTOCK! Details. NOW! (lol)

Woodstock 94 had a great lineup. Metallica was on the main stage on the second night. After Nine Inch Nails and before Aerosmith (who closed the night). It was wet and muddy, but they put on a great show.

Those are the big four? How did that list happen? Also, yeah I've seen all of those bands.

it's the 'big 4' of thrash metal record sales pretty much.
