Someone told me yesterday that he takes kratom for his chronic hip pain and he says it really works. My question is this would it be safe for my ole grumpy father to take it who's on a bunch of different medications. He's got bad arthritis in his hands. He likes to drink but would this get him high which he would not like? I've seen a gas station or two with a kratom sign on the door but is there a more legit place to purchase it?

After a motorcycle accident I didn’t want to be put on pain pills so I’ve been taking Kratom in powder form every day for like three years for pain. I’m a Carpenter and my job is physically demanding and it has worked wonders. There’s a lot of misinformation about it, especially people calling it an opiate or opioid. It is a plant in the coffee family that affects one minor opiate receptor. You don’t get a “high“ from it. Just a minor pleasurable feeling like you would get from coffee. It works great for pain and is a big-time immune booster. It does have a slight risk of dependency. From my experience it is very mild

I do the same. The red vein Kratom is excellent for pain. I got in a car accident, and I’m in 9/10 pain when I wake up. I do (2) 1/2 teaspoons of the powder (toss and wash), several times a day. I feel like I have a screwdriver in my back, and this gets rid of 95% of the pain. I’ve tried mixing it with pudding or tea, but it tasted terrible. I put some in my mouth and wash it down with Gatorade. It’s like eating a spoonful of cinnamon, but it tastes like dirt. Very effective though. No need for opiates, do this and stay away from prescription drugs. I also do Charolette’s Web CBD roll-on (525mg), and it helps too.
