But the midwest states weren't really following this law to begin with, so .... really were back at square one regardless. Liberal states will do whatever they want, and conservative states will do what they want, so outside the case decision, what exactly changed?

Not much, my point exactly. Those making money off of dead baby parts won't be able to argue that states hands are tied because of a Supreme Court ruling. If Dems cared so much about abortion, they should have brought it to a vote instead of hiding behind a Supreme Court ruling.
