Probably my mom, threatened me with some knives when i was a kid, and her favorite punishment was physical isolation. My brother and I joke it was the black box treatment, since we would essentially be stuck into a locked room with no lights or anything. If we tried to turn on the lights, our mom would beat us by belt until we complied.
