Counselling is very heavily dependent on the individual person who is said counsellor. If they are wise beyond their years it might be helpful - but the overwhelming vast majority of people who become counsellors victim blame or are just generally fucked in the head.

So you started seeing this girl and now you want to off yourself. Maybe you should stop seeing her. Take a few weeks off from the relationship, maybe a month--no contact. Should be able to think more clearly then.

The girl is irrelevant, my brain was this broken way before she ever got into the picture. Realistically my brain has a very hard time processing relationships, be they good or bad, simply because of how my last relationship ended. This person could be a picture perfect poalster, Hitler loving, nigger hater, and my brain would still think she hates me

I've been to counseling in the past when it was recommended by a doctor. I usually got to a point where blowing my brains out seemed preferable to going back to see them. I always felt worse when I was leaving a session than I had when I got there...

I've seen therapists before when going through rough times. They didn't do much more than listen, and it was nice to have a scheduled time to work out issues. Saying shit out loud to another live, human being that won't judge you can sometimes really help. I would have eventually worked through my problems on my own, but I think talking about it with a nuetral person sped up that process.

Be careful with the SSRI they inevitably will prescribe Some actually help , while others will tend to push you over the edge. Everyone's brain chemistry is different , what helps some harms others.
