There will be a series of challenges. You must survive each one successively. To meet the later challenges you must first be alive, with resources. This means decoupling from modern society in my opinion, it’s structure is fragile with too many dependencies. The Amish are an interesting group, but they believe in non violence and they live too close to many people who who will have no resources but weapons. It will not end well for them.

What? How long are you planning to live? 500 years?

I have no desire to live in a post apocalyptic world, I'd rather die and let the survivors deal with all that stupid shit. I mean what's the point?

Then that’s your opinion, and your choice. As I stated initially, we watch with amusement from afar and life is good. We will eventually have to watch the world burn, but we will not participate.

Death isn't my opinion nor my choice...

You think you're going to watch the world burn from the comfort of your living room? I think that's going to be a tad complicated without video streaming to begin with...

"I'll be fine watching the world burn in my cosy chalet, next to my sweet fire place, with my wife, and my dog skippy... And then I'll make toasts and have a beer and go to bed" and they lived happily ever after!

That's delusional, it's going to be pain and shit for breakfast and diner everyday, just to buy a little time before the inevitable final outcome... Which is death. That, can't be avoided...
