All things that were considered, evaluated and planned for. If, big if , you ever made it out that far to our area, you find the hills do not allow you visibility on the way in. Trees surround everything. The geese that live there are excellent alarms, the dogs know to listen for them. The way in is uphill, serpentine and slow. Everybody can look to see who is coming. Other directions nature has provided insurmountable obstacles. There is also the hidden retreat option, to a nearish safe house with supplies. One does always have home turf advantage of knowing every tree, hole and rock.

No plan can be perfect in an unknown future, but we think we have a better chance than most.

Family bonds tend to be reliable, the rest not so much

The only weak point that I can think of right now, about your place, since I don't know the details, are the bills attached to it, that's what bothers me with most everything btw. But there's little you can do about it at that point

And I'm not talking about the money here, to be clear, I'm talking about a name attached to some property

What could possibly go wrong with it? Idk, it's just that it's referenced, "they know" if you will. Now maybe it won't be of any serious consequences

...

I remember some 2 decades ago, when the word was starting to get out that, the business over the internet was pretty much all about profiling people/harvesting data on them, from political affiliation, to religious denomination, to their ethnicity, to sexual orientation, to the names of their wife and kids and dog, and so on... One of the very first things I thought was "wtf... And here I was thinking people learned their lesson from wwII..."

French police used to do that, they used to make lists on every citizen, same deal political affiliation, religion, race, etc... Of course when nazis took over they were pretty happy to find the lists referencing the jews, communists, freemasons... Since then the police is barred from doing such administrative stunts... But then the corporate world is doing it full time, and literally brought it to next level... Oh the irony...

Technology has not encompassed the property registration office of my local municipality. It’s papers and folders and giant 3 ring binders from times before my fathers father. Likely some part of it is computerized now to know if I’ve paid my yearly property tax (which is less than a lunch and coffee date in the US). If trouble comes to the world, part of my strategy is simply to not be a concern to anyone. When the government comes for its people, the cities go first, suburbs soon after, rural areas maybe, and the last 5% of outliers are som0y too many resources to worry about.
