When you say remote upload, do you mean copying the file link from one location and it uploads from that server instead of you having to download it then upload it from your own connection?
Yeah, exactly that. Like the "Upload via URL" function like on catbox so you can copy a video that is already online to another host. If I get a direct mp4 link to a video that is under 200mb I can quickly put it on catbox as a temporary mirror. For vid8 as it currently is I need to download the video from the source and then upload it from my local drive, which can take anywhere from 15min to 3 days due to low upload speed. At least until it gets that upload via URL functionality.
Oh nice. Super speed!
How do sites that allow direct links to huge files like Catbox make money? Seems crazy.
Catbox started off being funded by donations, but I believe it became kike-/cia-controlled last year. It is still accepting donations to "fund" it which helps them to keep the ruse of not being a honeypot going. It's just like how bitchute got taken over by kikes but they still accept donations. Both delete certain materials, or intentionally do not delete certain things to watch who is watching them.
I think most file hosting sites similar to catbox are honeypots also, or those that haven't been flat out shut down anyway. I think hosting services like vid8 generally do it not for profit but for the principle and the person running it does so for as long as they can or want to or as long as they can keep making up the difference when donations aren't enough to help keep it going.
