I lived for a few months in Hollywood/Ft Lauderdale back in 2006, and hated it. Hated South Florida period, swore I'd never go back to FL. But this area is nothing like the rest, it's called 'South Alabama' cuz people are just so nice to each other. After 20 years of Hawaii, where people are not very friendly, it took some getting used to. Great beach/boating/fishing culture here, great roads, no litter or graffiti, etc etc.

--your dude might be camping with some sleazy skank, and have his phone turned to call forwarding, to ANOTHER phone, or a VOIP, and is ducking your caller ID number. There are websites that find people, costs 30-40 bucks. The free ones suck.

-kudos for homeschooling, keep your impressionable child out of government indoctrination centers.

If he's camping, he could be camping with his older kids from another wife. Maybe you're correct. I thought he might have put the phone on call forwarding because of the strange rings or maybe screwed up call forwarding by accidentally punching in the wrong #. And now, after sitting fir avfew days the battery died. These are my most optimistic thoughts. I worry unfortunately.

And as far as S Florida goes, I was there for years starting in the late 80s. It was fun then. But I didn't live in ft. Lauderdale. I used to drive morning and night from Boca to aerobics. The aerobic studio was off Oakland near A1A. I met some nice people back then though.

As far as the pan handle goes, I would consider that area. The cost may be better too. I'm gping to be on a budget if I do a buy out. I'll be paying cash for my new home and need money to live on until I figure out my new life/ career ect... And I love real southerners. And although I have many east coast friends, Miami and ft. Lauderdale seems less southern because of all the easterners and some are less friendly.

Yes, public schools and even some private schools scare me especially now with health restrictions and track and trace.

One thing I like about Florida is the governor. DeSantis seems great!

Desantis is great, but may be leaving us to be Trumps VP. I hope not. He consistently pushes back on the leftist BS.

-dunno about TX, but there is plenty of work here, and a new business pops up every day. Lots of well-heeled tourists willing to spend bux on everything. Zero gang/BLM/Antifa crap. Very right-wing, churchy, and gun-toting. I wish I had moved here earlier, but better late than never.

Oh. and if you lived in Hawaii, sad it's become so hostile with Vax restrictions. I used to go there yearly. I named my daughter after the Volcano goddess there. ;) I almost moved there when she was a baby. Now, I'm glad I didn't

Yep,that does sound good. But things could change when DeSantis gets out of office. Lots of leftist in Florida though probably not where you're at. And even if another Red wins, democrats cheat! And once they're in its next to impossible to get them out.

Are the state legislators there mainly red? I know Texas is very red outside of Austin.
