Its all learnable man, but to be good takes talent. And years of practice. I dont know if you have ever known really good welders but I have.

Yea for sure, I also know some really good welders. Its an artform but if the metal sticks and is strong enough for your own use, what more can you ask for? I enjoy welding but I wouldn't want to do that trade as a career.

I wouldnt either, maybe. But I have known many backyard fuckers who use a stick just cause it makes a good looking weld.

I taught myself how to mig in a few days. I'm sure i could learn to tig in a usable manner in a couple weeks practicing after work.
