It appeals to man's pride for sure, but the reality is this sort of mindset is why society is hemorrhaging.

The real answer is Christ, for when Christ has favored you what is the opinion of doomed creatures

Dude, jesus isn’t the answer to literally everything.

I understand what you mean, where society becomes sacrilegious and loses it's values. However, can't you see the parallels in our perspectives? If you embrace God/Christ to where other's criticism mean nothing to you, is that not similar to embracing yourself to achieve the same thing?
