The kkk is there in the general population, though the official headquarters is 20 miles east in Zinc. I lived there for a few years about 10 years back. Strangers strike up casual conversations in the grocery stores, then invite you to church. After a while I began to recognize the beauty of Mennonite women. South of town a couple of miles is Valley Springs High School. They don't have a football team, but the basketball teams are amazing. It was fun to watch white boys and girls mop the floor when they played a black team.
