Same here. My teachers were silent generation and boomers. There was a girly boy in middle school who was almost certainly gay, and in highschool there was an open gay. Some of the stocky girls ended up as lesbians. The new thing was a "gay-straight" alliance club with a dozen or two kids, but a solid majority of them were straight.
