Nope, your either a chef in hiding or a prima donna.

NY pizza
I fucking loathe NY "pizza" if it's referring to what I think it is, i.e., thin crust, super greasy, floppy pizza. I like to call NY style pizza "cardboard with cheese" cause it's so shite.
Best pizza i've ever had was in NY.
Throw some cheese on the Staten island paper mill product and serve it to a customer. Boom, NY pizza
I'm with you. NY pizza is culinary short attention span defined. When its hot its damn tasty but it immediately turns into a gut bomb as your body turns on you for eating that greasy garbage. Even a rat won't eat poison after having been exposed to it once.
I make it myself so no.
If anyone doesn't like it. Fuck em.
This is the way to do it. My crust is all meat, a beef/chorizo blend, bake at 350 that for 40 minutes. Put on whatever sauce and veggie toppings, in for another 20. Cheese last, crank it up to 400 for 10.
Sort of, I learned long ago that big pizza chains generally put out terrible pizza. Ideally a coal fired pizza is perfect, but other types all serve their purpose, except for deep dish. That sort of shit has no place in this world.
I will not eat pizza if I am not on the East Coast between Philadelphia and Boston.
That's funny because that's the only place I don't eat pizza. If you can even call that pizza.
Stop ordering pineapple pizza and you might change your mind.
????
I used to be the same but Florida has stepped up it's game.
New Jersey has some of the worst pizza i've ever had
I wouldn't deny that, but is also has some of the best
Cheap pizza is cheap because they use low quality ingredients. Some pizzas at trendy brewpubs and restaurants may use high quality ingredients but still be awful. Find some Italians and ask them.
i agree with that, you can taste it in the ham and cheese.
we get the fuckin opposite in melbourne sometimes, you either get the most generic of generic shit pizza shops or 'cafe' pizza with utterly retarded shit on it.
i do recall a bar in the city that did pizzas, but their kitchen staff were all indians, and they did their pizzas on ... im damn sure it was naan bread but it was pretty damn good.
Fanculo!
Depends on the price. $20-25 for a large, it better be NJ/NY/PA pizza. If I'm paying $10-15, I'm not looking for great, I'm looking for good. Btw, in my area, if you go to an authentic place ran by a fat Italian, it'll be $18-25 for a large, with qualities ranging from mostly great, to fantastic.
Sadly, after living in the best pizza area of the US, I have a feeling I'm going to miss it when I move elsewhere and it's no longer an option.
P.S. Johns Pizza might make a better Supreme than Pete's, but Pete's might make a better Meat. Also, no delivery. It must be as fresh as possible. This means eating at the restaurant for the best quality, or picking up yourself for almost as good. I'm not even joking on this. I've had the best crust I've ever had lose about 10-15% of it's quality by the time I made it home, where it then remained at that quality.
California's are confused.
Wheres the ranch at?
Wtf does California have to do with anything. I'm East Coast. Also, ranch is only good for the crust, but garlic butter is better.
grew up on brick oven pizza with the crispy dough bubbles and random burnt spots. that pizza was the best
today its all essentially frozen pizza cooked through a toaster oven. you cant even get those massive party sized pizzas anymore that took up an entire back seat of the car.
I rarely order pizza anymore and when we do have pizza its typically home made.
pizza isnt fun anymore .
Yes, but let me start by saying pineapple on pizza is an abomination against God and is really fucking gay.
I don't like mushrooms, onions, or bell peppers on my pizza. So "supreme" pizzas are a no-go.
I don't like that super think, deep dish bullshit but I also don't care of NY style.
Thin crust is okay under the right circumstance.
Have you ever tried pineapple pizza? Its tolerable if the sauce compliments it. Onions and jalapenos are my go to for veggies. Fuck olives though. I hate them.
I lived near NYC. Moved upstate and having the same problem.
I feel like nobody uses proper brick pizza ovens here. I can't believe how forgiving people are with pizzas away from the city because pizza is one of my favorites. Or, was back when I could get the good stuff.
