Do you have kids? If so, then you know that despite your best efforts to give your children wisdom, in the end they have to make choices for themselves and they are going to fuck it up eventually. Same with God. He created you and gave you the ultimate gift: self-determination. And in giving his creation self-determination, he knew - even before the act of creation - that we were going to fuck it up and make choices contrary to his will, and these choices would lead to pain, suffering, and death. We disobeyed God so he gave us into the hands of the Adversary for a time, that we might see the ultimate consequence of our sin and our disobedience. This world is what the creation looks like when the creation is at odds with itself and its creator. When everything is filled not with the Spirit of God - which is peace - but rather filled with selfishness, greed, etc. Those with wisdom will see this world for what it is: something that is beautiful but broken, but also an opportunity for us to grow in wisdom and to learn from our mistakes. Our hope is not in this age, but in the age to come. Our hope is in His son, Jesus the Christ. A light unto the world, a beacon in a world clothed in darkness.
