You can't avoid retards. Sometimes, even the wholesome white country towns are full of them. I've lived in towns under 500, over 200,000, and many in between. Currently in one under 5000 and happy. If I were to caution you on one thing, don't expect to find the perfect place before you have a family, and even then, not until your kid(s) are close to school age. Communities change fast these days it seems. A once great school district can go to shit before your kids graduate. Live where you can make bank and comfortably live until you start your family. Then, if you choose to send your kid to public school, find the best one for you. greatschools.com is a good resource for this, as it breaks down race, income, performance of students, etc. Was a great help for me finding a place to move. Crime rate maps/stats are also helpful. If you're going to homeschool, you'll focus on the crime rate maps/stats, because that lets you know how many retards are in the area. Seems there are pockets of refuge everywhere, the thing is being there at the right time as things never seem to last. Best of luck to you.
