Anyone know anything about clothes alteration? I got pants cut to shorts years ago for a few bucks. However, shirts would be pricier. I have ~dozen XL work shirts I bought when I was fat(ter), but the shoulders are still just right/ better than L. How much would it cost to get say 6 fitted to my lessened girth?

I learned how to sew as a kid from my grandma. She wouldn’t let use a machine, but I did in Home Ec in jr high. Wasn’t great at it, but probably could pick it back up. Thing is I have tons of other projects to do.. improving my house and doing prototypes as “job applications” for engineering at work.
