I’m sure this exists and is targeting people, already. It’s too obvious. How would you make an AI that could target a particular person and make them dead via the internet. Not skynet, just a killer Tay who would identify her target and make them dead using only information tech. Tay would have to convince the person to kill themselves or convince someone else to kill them. No simple hijacking of steering wheels. That’s so 2006.

There was a sci-fi novel I read about 20 years ago where an AI started making money by purchasing life insurance on people that it's actuarial tables had determined were at high risk of kicking off in the near future. I can't recall if it found methods to help speed things up by sabotaging online connected microchips. (Cars, toasters, elevators, etc) I think it might have been "When HARLIE was 1 (1972)" but there's a very good chance I'm way off base.
