I’m new to my faith, so this is probably obvious to some of you, but why are people so passionate about asserting that they don’t believe in Christ? I don’t hear people respond to a Buddhist, “I don’t believe in that.” Or anyone else, really. But let someone know that you believe in Christ and so many people’s knee jerk reaction is to suddenly blurt out tha they they don’t believe. I didn’t ask them. I don’t evangelize in an obvious way. I have discussions, in part, to parse out and understand what I think, or what I’ve experienced, because it’s an interesting relationship that I have with God. And it’s even with people that care about me. They’re suddenly focused on their own disbelief rather than maybe being curious. They make my faith about themselves in a way that doesn’t fit with the rest of their personality. It’s only on this subject. Nevermind. I think I figured it out. They are trained to say that. I must be onto something. Flack over the target, I guess. Fucking balls. We humans are easy prey. Go on about your day, or maybe tell me about how you don’t believe in Christ. I’m super curious about all the shit you DON’T believe. Because that certainly makes for interesting and productive conversation.

This post is a great example.

You come in here bellowing about your beliefs. You think some fictional character named Jesus came to this planet from a supernatural God and that he gave you instructions on how to live.

And no doubt, you spew this idiotic trash to people in real life. Expecting them to give a fuck. Expecting them to listen.

But then, when they turn around and say "well I don't believe that" - you bitch and play the victim. Because on the cult of Christianity, it's somehow magically different when anyone else expresses their beliefs (or lack thereof) as proudly as you do. If other people do it it's oppressive, or annoying (gasp)

Christianity is a cult, and it makes its followers think they're special. That's why you get told people don't believe in it - they want you to shut the fuck up like the rest of us and just believe whatever stupid shit you want to until you die like everyone else.

Christianity is only special according to Christianity. If you wanna think otherwise, only talk to Christians

That’s it. I’m convinced. Off to temple I go. Gotta get fitted with my tiny hat and self-loathing.

I only talk about it when necessary as my faith is my own. I barely understand it. It’s something I wasn’t looking for and it just showed up at a point when I was exhausted, alone and hungry. I think I mentioned that I don’t evangelize.

That being said, your ass is gonna burn if you don’t your head straight. I’ll pray for you, robot.
