If you want to do a deep dive down into this vein, find and consume, The Origins And History of Consciousness by Eric Neumann. It's essentially a distillation of Jungian ideals, the forward of which was penned by Carl Jung, hisownself. The Good Swiss Doctor quipped it is the book he wish he would've written. Stellar stuff.
