The fat tire model is more for sand and gravel roads, you might want one more suited for asphalt, I dunno. But I will never go back to a non-electric bike, for sure. Very fun!
I kinda like the versatility. Could handle roads, and anything else.

You're going to need a battery on the larger scale for 6.5 miles one way. This is partially why I recommend building it yourself, as the batteries won't be proprietary and you'll likely to be able to get them quickly and cheaply when they eventually start waning (years from now).
I would say whatever mileage they claim, half it. Those are flat surface, no wind and no stops estimates.
Yeah. Specs on a different site for the ecotric vortex city warned of this, but I think it's manageable. A good starter, for a decent price
