I have a toddler and am planning to home educate him. Our local public library is wanting these days on quality books, so I’ve taken to collecting high quality books myself. Many I am collecting for our home library are over his head right now. I gravitate toward out of print Christian children’s books and books that directly or indirectly celebrate the simple family life. Also I have entirely too many picture books on trains and vehicles per my son’s interest. Haha The other day I counted about 80 board books and around 300 children’s books. My husband has at least 300 to his name and I probably have 300 or more. Many are boxed in the closet as we live in a small house and I need more bookshelves! I have read or skimmed most all of my books. Many of them are reference books (herbs, homesteading, cookbooks, etc) and almost all of them non-fiction. It brings me great joy to sit and read and when I’m busy working around the house I listen to podcasts and audiobooks.
