I wonder whether it's only me who noticed this. As time passes, I hear the ambulance sirens more and more often. Lately there have been days I have heard them five or even more times. Even a year before, it used to be once a week or even less, and now it has become something I hear all the time.

Some guy had a heart attack at work and needed an ambulance. They charged him $9,500. for the ride. Some fat nigger bitch would call 911 on a regular basis and "recover" just as they reached the ER. Then she would walk a few blocks from the hospital to visit her sister. She was proud of how clever she was by gaming the system and saving $1.50 on bus fare. After many such incidents, she was arrested and charged with the crime. The judge ruled that the ambulance company could not refuse her service as that would be racist. In a just society, that nigger would be dragged into the street and shot in the fucking head.

And the judge would be kneeling next to her waiting for his turn

Here they use to place announcements for funerals around the neighborhood of the deceased. There are too many such announcements lately, and often they post new announcements over the old ones at an alarming pace that wasn't the norm before. The ages mentioned are often surprising as well, people in their 50s or 60s that you wouldn't imagine you would see their names there.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've not noticed an increase in death/funerals in my area even though I know the aggregate numbers are dreadful. I often wonder why the misalignment and then count myself lucky, I guess.

I should add that many cemetaries don't accept funerals anymore because there isn't any space left. Many relatives choose the incineration option because they can't find a grave.

I remember something on poal. I downloaded a scanner app and listened to county emergency services and was appalled. * chest pain * unconscious person * heart attack * fallen person * stroke

They were coming in fast IMGO but I had no baseline to compare to.

i drive for a living roughly 700 miles a day, i see much more wrecks than i used to and the wrecks dont decrease with less traffic on the road.

the vaxxed can not drive, they'll get in any lane and travel at 35mph on the freeway.

Lol , I've been saying since the pandemic people have become just insane behind the wheel. Absolutely crazy lane changes , speeding driving wreckless in the city just to race to the next red light. Absolutely crazy.

It slow down during covid because people were afraid to go the ER.

I'm on the interstate every day all day. I've never had to announce, "Make a hole. Meat box coming thorough," more than I have this year.

It went from one maybe every couple of days at most to 3-6 daily.

To be fair vehicle sound proofing has gotten pretty amazing.

It takes the amberlamps a while to get out my way.

I'm an emt so I hear them every day. I'm in a town with a bunch of retirees and about 5 nursing homes. A lot of our traffic comes from old people thinking theyre having a heart attack(a lot are) and nursing homes because nurses can't be arsed to do their job. Pepop stubbed his toe? Er. Sneeze? Covid. No shit. At the VA, some dumb nurse called us for "altered mental status " on a patient, and she thought he was having a stroke because he was incoherent. come to find out he had dementia, which she would've found if she checked his record. We checked his face, no droop, and checked the strength in his hands and limbs to find one-sided weakness. All good, so we left. She filed a complaint against us because we didn't take him.

nursing homes because nurses can't be arsed to do their job.

I work in LTC and very much this. Although sending people out too much now affects our reimbursement.

A large effort by the company was made to get nurses to hesitate to send people out. We even contracted with Telehealth so nurses could get an instant consultation between patients and doctors before calling 911.

Everything was getting better until covid. Now with staffing shortages nurses don't have time to determine if it is a critical situation or can be dealt with in house. So they just send the fuckers out.

Tons of private ambulance companies. AMR is a fucking disaster. They run their sirens at 4 fucking AM. No reason for it.

[–] 1 pt

Not everyday, but I live in an area that has maybe 30 homes within earshot of my office. In the last couple weeks I've seen ambulances go to peoples houses on my road like 3 times. There used to be a time when I would go several years and not see one. I blame the clot shot.

My dogs only howl at sirens, they howl about 5 - 6 times a day now.

I have learned that my dog will howl at certain sirens. To me they all sound the same, but to her there are differences.

I've also read that dogs some how know the ones that are carrying the soul to its last earthly destination.

I have to say I believe it.

As I have intentionally studied the sounds of the sirens to try to explain the difference my dog seems to know about. But, as of yet, that is the only explanation that makes sense to me.

Deep I know. But true.

[–] 1 pt

Maybe its not the sound but the smell of death

May all the hounds howl when we journey to Valhalla !

The road is behind a wall. It's a bit of a distance as well.

She literally, will run through the house and through her doggy door the second she hears the sound of the siren.

She's not a yapping type of dog either. Normally quiet. She's also a mutt.

And when she decides to howl, she will stop and stand, as if in reverence.

I'm also on a out skirts of an elderly community. Not far from a hospital.

And btw, during the last few months the amount of sirens have been greatly reduced. 5+ a day during the initial covid period and preceding months were not uncommon to hear.
