I saw strange lights in the sky in the middle of the desert on my way heading east from the California desert into Arizona.

I had pulled over on an offramp around 11pm to take a leak.

As I was sitting next to the car, a pitch black night with no moon, I looked up to observe the stars. There were lights that looked like satellites (maybe 3 or 4 of them) flying in slightly circular patterns as if in some sort of dogfight game.

I was within about 100 miles of an Air Force base out there (I was near Tonopah, AZ and Luke Air Force Base is just east from there) so it could have been F22's or something but I'm not sure. They were moving way too fast to be jets (at least the F22's that I've seen during the day), the lights were too bright given the apparent altitude, and the patterns were to agile to be satellites.

Still unsure what they were but it still gives me goosebumps thinking of it.

I saw something exactly like this when i was a kid and we were driving through New Mexico, it was pitch black out there. What i saw seemed really high up though but it was for sure looking like a dog fight, maybe it was the filming of a scene in Star Wars fuck if i know.
