One day you woke up without ever having gone to sleep. One day you will go to sleep, and never again wake up.

More like, one day you will wake up, go to work, get run over by a bus, and lie in a hospital bed for three weeks, screaming in pain, until you finally die from your massive internal organ injuries.

If I had to guess, I would say that it won't ever end.

I can't think of a single logical reason of why it began in the first place, so why should it end, either?

Don't you know? Check your username for a clue.

Excuse me sir, do you have a moment to talk about jesus christ?

I'd tell you the ending but I'm not partial to spoilers.

My dog died on 4/22.

As her organs shut down her appetite went. Her back legs stopped working well and she was in pain. She'd cry, but seemed to calm when someone sat with her.

The night she died she went into a seizure. Her eyes got so large that I thought they'd pop out of her head and I tried to call her name and hold her neck, but she couldn't acknowledge me. She died in my arm. I think her heart was still beating a bit after she stopped breathing. I remember being confused if that was genuinely the end or not. Like she'd just wake back up.

I don't believe there is anything after life. I believe we need a functioning brain to formulate thoughts and have a consciousness. I struggle to imagine there being some type of consciousness outside the brain.

We are all immortal and your dog is not dead everywhere. Sorry though, I know the hurt of losing a dog via seizure right in front of you.

It'll end when you face your fears and discover it's all a lie. Good Afternoon, Good Evening and Good Night.

The current insanity, or human civilization in general?

For the former, we'd need a Hitler. That's the only possible way to end the former without seeing an end to the latter too.

For the latter, probably a combination of bioweapons, nuclear weapons, conventional weapons, formerly minor infections, and starvation.

Boring ol' heat death.

Eventually expansion will pull apart the galaxies far enough that they can no longer interact with each other. Perhaps gravity will lose to dark energy, and matter just falls apart. It's up in the air whether or not protons will decay or not, so we'll see.

When all of the matter has decayed, and there is nothing left but light/radiation, we're left with a universe of size 0. A random energy fluctuation/quantum tunneling event could kick-off another universe. Or so says conformal cyclic cosmology hypothesis/theory/guess/insane rambling of Roger Penrose or whoever the fuck said that shit.

I believe in the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics. It instinctively feels right to me. I also find the quantum immortality theory interesting. Furthermore I have another instinctual feeling that what we perceive to be distance doesn't exist in the way we experience it. What Einstein called spooky interaction at a distance is an interesting phenomenon which is yet understood.
