Because its the one with the highest success rate of treatment and they can jerk themselves off about how great of a job they are doing and you get brainwashed into thinking current cancer treatments are working.
Isn't the standard treatment to "just cut off the boobies"? How much did they spend to come up with that?
If you really want to realize how breathtakingly stupid the emphasis on breast cancer is, think about how old women typically are by the time they get it. It's typically well past the age where they'd be breastfeeding...which means they can just get a masectomy and cosmetic implants and call it a day. Sure, there'll be scars, but if you told someone with any other form of cancer they could cure their cancer with scars only their spouse will ever see...they'd be ecstatic.
