My thoughts summarized.
First off, we're here to experience life. This world is a giant sandbox to play in.
Secondly, we are here to learn things in addition to just play. There are an infinite number of things that someone can learn. But I think there is one major thing that we are supposed to learn.
We are supposed to learn to desire to love, and not to hate.
This is done by first recognizing that our ego exists. And that our ego is not actually a part of our eternal self, but a sort of computer program that is laid out over top of us. It's the ego that gives us the feeling that we are a separate entity than all others. A person. An individual. The reality is there has only ever been one thing in existence, the ALL. The FATHER. The SOURCE. And we are all a piece of that totality. Everything is. But the source plays a game where it separates itself into infinite, shining pieces and plays hide and seek. The end result of the separation is eventual reconnection. And this happens separately depending on the path taken by each egoized separate piece (you and me) and the choices they make.
Because we are separated and granted an ego (which gives us desires) we are able to make free choice. And when you are a piece of the ALL and made up of pure love it's my thought that the occasional break from the ALL and being granted the ability to pretend for a time you are individual is a very desired experience.
The path back to source is the path of love. The path of learning that everyone is your brother and sister. Each person. Each animal. Each plant. Even each aspect of mineral. All are brothers springing back to the ONE. As we come to realize this we LOVE them. And as we come to learn how to love we come to see the pain that is created with hatred and we wish to avoid it. This is the path to enlightenment.
The other option we have is to walk as far down the path of hatred we can and taste it's fruits if that is what we so desire. The path of hatred is the path of separation. The path of seeing yourself as separate from everything else. Hatred and separation is just as natural as Love and enfoldment. This is why when we love one another we desire to become ONE with one another. We desire to hold each other. To hug each other. To embrace. When we are feeling love we are LITERALLY feeling the urge to become one with the SOURCE again and it manifests here, in this world in all sorts of two-into-one behaviors.
When we feel hatred we are literally feeling the urge to separation. To experience aloneness. That is why hatred and breaking things, and striking things, and destroying are all connected. The human term we use for this hatred is actually surprising for some. It's narcissism. Narcissism is the inner human urge to separate yourself from your brothers and sisters. To set yourself as superior. And it's only possible because we temporarily have an ego that makes it possible.
This whole experience is here to allow little pieces of the divine, you and I, to mix up in the liquid of life and then either float to the top or sink to the bottom. Where we go is fully dependent on what decisions we choose to make.But eventually it's my belief that all bits of soul return to their maker.
That's why I think we're here.
Though I probably could write a full book if I actually sat down to do it.
