I don't like the idea of anyone being hurt. People punching each other is ugly and to be avoided at great cost. But sometimes I think I'd rather fight someone than suffer the indignity of backing down. Not for fear of the fight but because I am trying to build a life and legal problems are the last thing I need. For example, those guys who beat the shot out of the guy who attacked Chris Rick. Clearly that was excessive force but none of them will be charged I guarantee you. Meanwhile I feel like if I so much as get into any kind of fight I will be charged with felony assault and go to prison. The last thing I want to do is fight but there's so many assholes these days. I'd really like to make it out of this metropolis and into a rural area in a non-nuclear target part of the old usa.
