I showed my aunt that toaster video because I thought it was entertaining, funny, and informative. You would have thought I was torturing her or something. She was a early grade school teacher for about 40yrs or something. It seems to have showed during those moments. Not exactly mind expanding profession.
Funny, because one of my best friend's dad was a 7th grade science teacher back in the 70's. Make your own black powder? Please. By the time we were 9 we had become past masters of the calculated risk, and were already doing things like making crystal radios and compounding our own solid model rocket motors and igniters, etc. It was a hoot. Probably lock us all up as "domestic terrorists" now.
I'm talking like 1st through 3rd graders or so for her. I graduated to potato cannons, .22's, paintball, and RC cars by 7th grade.

A proper, fine, and fulfilling childhood I'm sure. Or as we would say around here, "normal".
