I'd probably head to Texarkana, specifically the Arkansas side. The city limits are exempt from any income tax, property taxes are much lower in Arkansas, and you don't have to get your car inspected. Also the Texas side has a lower sales tax and doesn't tax food.

Having done over one million miles all over the country, I'm having trouble thinking of anywhere I could actually see myself living. If I absolutely had to choose, it would be north of I-70 and west of I-35.
