I know this seems very basic to most people but ive largely shunned technology, or change in general. I still buy cds. I dont know shit about mp3s or bluetooth or any of that. Problem is my new truck doesnt have a cd player and i want to listen to my shit instead of satellite radio. So right now im going through the tedious proccess of ripping all of my cds onto an external hard drive. After i do that, if i can copy it all onto a thumb drive, can i just plug that fucker into my dash and my shit will show up on my "infotainment screen" or do i need to put it all onto a micro sd card, put that in my phone, and hook my phone up to the truck?

If your car supports Android auto or Apple car play you can control it on the car's screen.

If it's an iphone prepare to be frustrated as you're not allowed to pick music from your phone. You have to speak it to Siri. Assuming you know the name of all 20,000 tracks in your collection by heart, and Siri understands you when you say them, it might be ok. Otherwise it makes the iPhone a useless paperweight in the car.

Ive got an android. And my cds im ripping, im manually typing in the names of the artists and albums, but not bothering with the names of the songs. Fuck that. But yeah i can use android auto with my truck, ive just never tried it

Most CD ripping programs will fill in the artist, album, and song titles for you.

I dont have home internet. So im just putting the cds in my computer and using windows media player to rip them straight to an external hard drive. WMP keeps telling me to connect to the internet to add that information. No can do.

There are free services to populate all those titles and ablums. Someone posted it last week.

I dont have home internet. So if thats something id have to do on my computer im shit out of luck there
