I learned about brushes a few years ago and it changed my dishwashing. Super pre-treatment for crap on things. Quick, easy to clean. I use one sponge for maybe 6 months until it falls apart, use it to clean all dishes (I don't use a dishwasher machine). Never stinks because I squeeze it out after each use and set it to dry.
