They wont start an atomic war because (((they))) don't need to. The fear of nuclear war is enough - can sell lots of weapons that way for proxy wars. People who are fearful wont question their loss of civil liberties in the name of "stopping Putin" or whatever excuse they use.

I give it about a 30% by year end. I see it as the end result of escalating belligerence leading to one nation or another in an existential crisis.

US/NATO is supplying arms to Ukraine. Russia has shot down one cargo plane with weapons on it. It won't be long before US/NATO troops are escorting a weapons convoy through Ukraine and Russia attacks it. Not long after that US/NATO air assets will be deployed from outside Ukraine. Russia attacks the operating bases then US/NATO attack Russian forces in Russia. Russia then attacks US assets in CONUS and things really heat up. Things stay conventional until one side is winning too much and then they go nuclear.

Russia isn't going to use a nuke on anyone. The first nuke used in anger since WW2 will be a so-called "dirty bomb" which isn't a nuclear device at all, it's a conventional explosive coupled with radioactive dust. It will be set off in a major city in a terrorist act by terrorists from the Middle East who are paid, trained and guided by Mossad agents. I doubt the target will be in the US. More likely it will occur in Europe.
