Must be old info.
Nope
He claims that Gab runs on their own servers today.
Lies
It's super easy to look up.
What is your point? He probably owns it.
My point is. They do not have their own infrastructure like he claims. And no he does not own epik.com that is another easy search. It's owned and founded by Rob Monster (2009-current).
You asked the question. I told you he was not. You called the info provided old. I proved it wasn't. Why do you get so defensive/angry when people show you facts?
Did you forget your meds, psycho?
I don't know if you're stupid or just uninformed, but you're acting like a bit of a cunt and you need to look up "domain name registrar". Has absolutely no bearing on whether or not they're self-hosting, and I'm going to take the word of the guy who owns the company and presumably knows what a registrar is.
I'm aware of what a domain name registrar is. But epik is also a hosting company that did 100% for a fact host gab.com.
Apparently they do have their own servers somewhere undisclosed now. The article is about parler, but it talks about gab further down. Sounds like they rent server equipment, but still rely on epik and cloudflare.
So I was wrong about the server. Info is limited though. And I still would not call it "their own" infanstructure as they rely heavily on cloudflare.
The point to the OP is. Don't post a "question" and then acting like a fag when someone responds. He's still mad cause I fucked with him the other day. Boo hoo. It's the internet get over it.
A very reasonable response, thank you. My general take is that I trust what Torba says on these matters because there's too much at stake for him; his claims are pretty foundational to what gab is about, and if proven false, he'd lose all credibility. The people in a position to prove those claims false would be gleeful at the opportunity, so I think the fact that no one has bodes well. Yes, he's a bit sensationalist about things, but I think a touch of that is necessary when trying to build what he's trying to build.
Fair point about "their own" infrastructure. There are no competitors for the service Cloudflare provides at the scale they provide it as far as I know, and it's not something gab can just go and recreate. I agree that it's a risk, as is Epik as registrar to a lesser degree, but there simply aren't reasonable alternatives for either at present and gab has done basically everything they could be expected to do, which is also more than anyone else has done.
As for OP, he was right in the end, but I think we can all agree that no one should go around acting like a fag. Turns out you're less of a cunt than I initially thought, so I'd wager the two of you could get on if you set your minds to it.
